Silly Walks

Today I will talk about babies learning to walk. I call this silly walks. A baby first step in learning to walk is standing for long periods of time. My daughter likes to stand in front of the coffee table and turn pages in board books. She is getting pretty good at this. She does it longer and longer every day. When she is done she knows how to fall back and not hurt herself.
Step two: is taking that first step. Her first step was from the couch to grandma. Then she stopped walking altogether. You see that first step is scary.
Step three: More steps. Now that she can stand for long periods of time she decided to take a step from the couch to the coffee table. Later on in the bedroom after I changed her diaper she took three steps and sat down. Last night she walked from one couch to the other, from mom to dad. This involved about three steps. That is where we are now.
Her steps are called silly walks because when one leg goes forward it goes far out and then lands on the ground. Then comes the next step until she is done.
I hope she continues to try out this walking business so that she can walk on her own in a couple months. I end with silly walks one leg out then the other. A day in the life of a baby trying out steps.
